Publications:

David Kaeli is a distinguished professor at the College of Engineering and director of the Northeastern University Computer Architecture Research Laboratory (NUCAR). He holds a courtesy appointment in the College of Computer and Information Science and an honorary professorship from City, University of London. His research has appeared in more than 375 critically reviewed publications. He is the author of seven books and 11 patents.

Kaeli’s work runs the gamut from microarchitecture to back-end compilers to database systems, with topics in the acceleration of machine learning algorithms, hardware security, graphics processors, virtualization, heterogeneous computing, and multi-layer reliability.

Kaeli was named an IEEE Fellow by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). Kaeli also serves as editor-in-chief of the ACM Transactions on Architecture and Code Optimization journal. He is presently leading the Data Management and Analysis Core for the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences’ Puerto Rico Testsite for Exploring Contamination Threats Center.

Before joining Northeastern, Kaeli worked for 12 years at IBM, the last seven of which he spent at T.J. Watson Research Center. He received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a doctoral degree in electrical engineering from Rutgers University. He also received a Master of Science in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University.
