Francesco Restuccia is an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer engineering. He is also a member of the Roux Institute and the Institute for the Wireless Internet of Things.

Restuccia’s research centers around the design and experimental evaluation of next-generation wireless systems for the Internet of Things and 5/6G communications. His technical expertise includes field-programmable gate array-level embedded wireless system design, machine learning algorithms and frameworks, wireless communication standards and architectures, and software-defined radio design and development.

The National Science Foundation and the Air Force Research Laboratory have supported Restuccia’s work. He received recognition by the Mario Gerla Award for Young Investigators in Computer Science and the Italian Scientists and Scholars in North America Foundation. He is also a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Before completing his postdoctoral research at Northeastern, Restuccia earned his doctoral degree in computer science from Missouri University of Science and Technology and his master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Università di Pisa.
