We seek postdoctoral candidates from fields in AI and beyond computer science to grow its cadre of scholars in Artificial intelligence.
In response to the shortage of researchers trained in AI, Northeastern seeks postdoctoral candidates from fields in AI and beyond computer science to grow its cadre of scholars in Artificial intelligence. Experiential AI Postdoctoral Fellows will take classes in AI and/or relevant applied discipline and work with members of Northeastern’s Experiential AI faculty. Of particular interest is AI applied to health & life sciences, engineering, human-AI interaction, and responsible AI.
Successful applicants will be principally located on the Portland, Maine campus and spend two years with a team of mentors at the Boston and/or Portland campuses. At the conclusion, postdoctoral fellows may be considered for faculty and staff research appointments at the Roux Institute or at one of Northeastern’s other ten campuses (Boston, Burlington, Nahant, Seattle, San Francisco, San Jose, Vancouver, Toronto, London and Charlotte).
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. by the time of appointment. Candidates with a background in AI are desired but not required before beginning the program, but interest and/or significant experience in math is required and experience in coding is a plus. During the fellowship period, Northeastern will provide Computer Science and AI course work and research mentorship in Experiential AI to the post-doctoral scholars. Candidates are not required to have any prior working experience.
