Maria Giovanna Trovato
Global Strategy & Business Development in Healthcare and Life Science
Maria Giovanna Trovato is a global strategy and business development manager in the Healthcare and Life Sciences team at the Institute for Experimental AI (EAI). A pharmaceutical professional with a decade of experience of working in an international environment, she brings a defined healthcare background and focus to the institute.
Maria Giovanna’s career to date has been heavily focused on the healthcare/pharma sector in both Europe and the United States. Based in Turin, Italy, until her move to Boston in November, she has gained a unique perspective into the importance of global business development and partnerships.
Prior to joining EAI, Maria Giovanna was a business development and grant manager at Infomedica, and held a similar position at ELITechGroup Molecular. Both of these roles saw her take on a number of responsibilities, including but not limited to translating market needs into comprehensive product strategies, the creation of e-learning programs and defining business optimization strategies with internal and external stakeholders. All of her work to date has been in the pharma sector, and she is excited by the opportunities that human-centric AI brings to clinical research areas such as oncology, hematology, rheumatology and neurology.
She has also worked as business development and marketing manager of an in vitro diagnostics (IVD) company where she was responsible for developing, implementing, tracking, and optimizing multi-channel marketing campaigns based on in-depth analysis of data, insights, and customer behavior in support of company-wide IVD services. In addition, Maria Giovanna managed relationships with external stakeholders that included opinion leaders, strategic alliance partners, patient advocacy leaders, and health authorities.
Her role at EAI will draw on her subject matter expertise and career development, with a particular emphasis on engagement with the healthcare and life sciences industries. A staunch advocate for authentic Italian coffee, Maria Giovanna is based in Boston.
