Brian Berkey is an associate professor in the Legal Studies & Business Ethics Department at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He holds a secondary appointment in the philosophy department, is an affiliated faculty member of the Institute for Law and Philosophy at the Penn Law School, and a faculty affiliate at Perry World House. Before joining the University of Pennsylvania, Brian was a postdoctoral fellow at the McCoy Family Center for Ethics at Stanford. He served as a fellow-in-residence at the Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard in the 2018-19 academic year and will be a visiting associate professor at the Georgetown Institute for the Study of Markets and Ethics at the McDonough School of Business for the coming 2022-23 academic year. Brian’s focus areas are moral and political philosophy and autonomous vehicle ethics. He has published works on moral demandingness, individual and corporate obligations of justice, climate ethics/justice, exploitation, effective altruism, ethical consumerism, animal ethics, and autonomous vehicle ethics.
