Ibrahim Said Ahmad

Ibrahim Said Ahmad is a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for Experiential AI and part of the Natural Language processing team. He is particularly interested in working on low-resource Natural Language Processing (NLP). Previously, he worked on sentiment analysis for the Hausa, Yoruba, and Igbo languages. Funded by the Lacuna fund, the work resulted in the release of the first large-scale human-annotated dataset for these languages.
Ibrahim is a co-founder of the HausaNLP research group, which promotes research related to NLP in low-resource African languages. He has benefitted from multiple research grants across diverse areas of NLP in low-resource languages.
