Ivan Felipe Benavides Marinez

Ivan Felipe is postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute for Experiential AI. He is a biologist from the Universidad de Nariño in Colombia, holding a Ph.D. in Ecology from the Universidad Austral de Chile. His research focuses on employing diverse analytical and predictive tools from data science, including machine learning, biostatistics, Bayesian inference, data mining, and mathematical modeling, to address environmental challenges. These challenges include issues such as species distributions, habitat reconstruction, air and water pollution, fish management, climate dynamics, and sustainable agriculture, among others.
Felipe is also an avid science communicator, regularly delivering talks and conferences on environmental data science across various countries. He serves as an invited lecturer on these topics at numerous universities throughout the Americas.
