Joseph Doiron
Associate Director, Education Programs
Dr. Joseph A. Doiron is a recognized expert in global academic innovation and experiential learning, serving as the associate director of education at the Institute for Experiential AI at Northeastern University. In this role, he leads the design and delivery of industry-leading learning experiences for external industry partners and across the Northeastern global network, with a particular focus on upskilling the workforce through the responsible integration of AI to enhance accessibility, engagement and quality in education.
Before joining Northeastern, Doiron served as a research scientist and academic innovation lead at MIT, where he guided a global network of universities in implementing pedagogical and research innovations, including AI, to elevate economic impact and institutional profiles. As an assistant professor in interdisciplinary and global studies at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, he led project centers in Morocco, Namibia, and the United Arab Emirates, co-founded the WPI OpenSTEM Initiative and launched the Online Institute to train faculty, staff and leaders at Nigerian universities. Doiron also held executive roles at several educational technology startups and was a Fulton Fellow at Arizona State University, a Fulbright Scholar and a global higher education analyst and consultant.
Fluent in multiple languages, Doiron earned his doctorate from Boston University, master's from Tufts University and bachelor's degree from Xavier University.
