Lili Su
Core Faculty
Lili Su is an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, with a courtesy appointment in Khoury College of Computer Sciences. Her research explores machine learning and designing provably resilient yet efficient distributed algorithms for large-scale machine learning systems. Within the field, she focuses on Federated Learning, distributed/multi-agent learning, fault-tolerance and security, autonomous vehicles, and decision-making in distributed biological systems such as neural networks and ant colonies.
Su was a Best Student Paper Award finalist at the 30th International Symposium on DIStributed Computing, and she received the Best Student Paper Award at the International Symposium on Stabilization, Safety, and Security of Distributed Systems, and the Sundaram Seshu International Student Fellowship, among other awards. She completed her postdoctoral work in MIT Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, after earning her doctoral and master’s degrees from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois.
