Marija Slavkovik is a professor at the University of Bergen in Norway. Her area of expertise lies in collective reasoning and decision making, specifically in the sub-area of multi-agent systems. She has held graduate-level courses in explainable AI, fair AI, and Responsible AI, among others, but her research focuses primarily on machine ethics. Within machine ethics, she studies how to automate moral reasoning and formalize ethical, collective decision-making. Marija is the vice-chair of the Norwegian Artificial Intelligence Society and a member of the informal advisory group on ethical, legal, and social issues of the Confederation of Laboratories for Artificial Intelligence Research in Europe. She is also on the education committee of the Norwegian Artificial Intelligence Research Consortium, a board member of the EurAI Society, and associate editor of the AI Magazine.
