Patricia Illingworth
Professor of Philosophy and Business, Northeastern University

Patricia Illingworth is an author, philosopher, and lawyer working on some of the most urgent social, ethical, and human rights problems that face people and their communities. Her focus areas include philanthropy and human rights, ethics and human rights, bioethics, business, and ethics. Patricia’s approach is highly interdisciplinary, with a scholar’s focus on facts, a philosopher’s attention to cogency, and a lawyer’s eye for practical policy solutions. She uses her skills to promote human rights and the public good.Most recently, she was a senior fellow at the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and a professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religion and in the D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University. Patricia received a doctorate in philosophy from the University of California and her Juris Doctor from Boston University. She enjoys playing with Panda, her Portuguese Water Dog, in her free time.
