Publications:

Taskin Padir is an associate professor of robotics in the Department of Computer and Electrical Engineering, an affiliated faculty member of the Roux Institute and the Global Resilience Institute, and founding director of the Institute for Experiential Robotics.

His research interests include human-robot teaming, AI-enabled robotics, supervised autonomy, shared control, and human-in-the-loop cyber-physical systems. Numerous industry partners have funded Padir’s research including, the Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing Institute, the National Science Foundation, NASA, the Department of Energy Office of Environmental Energy, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the Department of Defense, and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He led project teams for the NASA Sample Return Robot Centennial Challenge, SmartAmerica Challenge, and the DARPA Robotics Challenge. Padir is also an editor for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers International Conference for Robotics and Automation.

Padir obtained his doctoral and master’s degrees in electrical and computer engineering from Purdue University after earning a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the Middle East Technical University.
