Xue “Shelley” Lin is an assistant professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department and holds a courtesy appointment in the Khoury College of Computer Science.

Her research interests include deep learning, machine learning, computing in cyber-physical systems, high-performance and mobile computing systems, and very large-scale integration (VLSI). She earned top awards and recognition from multiple National Science Foundation awards and recently received the Top Highest Score Award at the 2021 Verification of Neural Networks Competition (VNN-COMP). She also won the Best Paper Award at the Hardware Aware Efficient Training (HAET) Workshop at the 2021 International Conference on Learning Representations (ICLR) and the Department of Transportation Inclusive Design Challenge.

Lin has received research funding from several reputable sources such as the National Science Foundation, the Air Force Research Lab, the Office of Naval Research, Lawrence Livermore National Lab, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, and the United States Department of Transportation.

Lin earned a doctoral degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Southern California and a bachelor’s degree in Microelectronics from Tsinghua University, China.
