Bethany Edmunds
Director of Computing Programs, Northeastern University Vancouver

Bethany Edmunds is the director of computing programs at Northeastern University’s Vancouver campus. She also serves on the board of directors for the Artificial Intelligence Network of British Columbia and as president of Women in Machine Learning. She has her doctorate in computer science with a specialization in reinforcement learning. Her focus areas include computer science education and machine learning.

A recognized leader in computer science and STEM education throughout North America, Bethany is passionate about breaking down barriers to create greater diversity, access, and inclusivity within the technology community. She brings together expertise in software development, machine learning, and educational innovation to create STEM opportunities for people of all backgrounds and abilities.

In 2018, Business in Vancouver awarded Bethany its Forty Under 40 distinction to highlight her demonstrated excellence in business, judgment, leadership, and community contribution. In 2019, Bethany received the YWCA Women of Distinction – Education, Training, and Development award.
