Shiran Dudy is a Research Scientist at Northeastern University’s Institute for Experiential AI, specializing in natural language processing (NLP) and speech processing. Her research centers on Responsible AI, with a particular focus on AI auditing and AI literacy.
Her work in AI auditing explores cultural representation in generative AI systems, how AI platforms mediate real-world opportunities as they increasingly replace traditional search engines, and how biases in AI systems shape educational settings. She also leads initiatives in AI literacy to foster civic engagement by creating healthier information ecosystems and empowering communities to participate in decisions about AI technologies that affect everyday life.
In her role as a consultant, Shiran helps organizations design and evaluate AI systems to ensure they are safe, equitable, and aligned with ethical standards. Through her academic and applied work, she seeks to promote awareness of AI’s risks and opportunities among researchers, organizations, and the broader public.
