How do we measure and improve algorithmic fairness when labeled data is biased?
This talk by Associate Research Scientist, Shantanu Jain introduces SCC-invariance to correct fairness metrics under selection bias using importance weights, then applies it to mitigation by targeting subregions where invariance holds, preserving outcome-relevant fair features. Includes interactive discussion of practical limits and next steps.
