As AI enters every corner of society, a new figure is emerging in labs and development teams: the embedded ethicist.
Who are they? Where do they come from? What training should they have, and what exactly do they do once embedded?
This collaborative workshop invites participants from all backgrounds to explore the practical realities of embedded ethics. We’ll draw on current research and hands-on experience to examine how ethicists work alongside developers, what tensions arise, and what skills and sensibilities this evolving role often demands. Join us to reflect, ask questions, and imagine new ways of building and utilizing AI-based technologies.
